Configuring Sugar Plug-in for IBM Notes

Overview

This article explains the settings needed to configure version 1.x of the Sugar Plug-in for IBM Notes, which is exclusively for use with Sugar 6.x instances. The Settings page enables users to connect to the Sugar® instance, enable proxy settings, synchronize data between Sugar Plug-in for Notes 1.x and Sugar and view the current Plug-in version. Debug Mode option available on this page enables Customer Support personnel to resolve issues.

Navigation

Follow the steps listed below to navigate to the Settings section of Sugar Plug-in for Notes:

1. Click Open from the menu bar options.
2. Select Mail from the dropdown list.
3. Go the Actions menu option.
4. Select Sugar Notes Plug-in from the Actions dropdown list.
5. Select Settings.
   This displays the Settings page.
6. Enter information in the sections discussed below and click Ok.

Alternatively,

1. Click Open from the menu bar options.
2. Select Mail from the dropdown list.
3. Click New in the menu bar options in the right pane of the Mail window.
   This opens a new email page.
4. Click the Sugar icon on the upper right corner of the page.
5. Select Settings from the dropdown list.
   This displays the Settings page.
6. Enter information in the sections discussed below and click Ok.

Connection Settings

Populate fields in this section to connect to Sugar.

Proxy Settings

Enter information here if you are using a proxy to connect to the internet.

Tip: Proxy connection details are available in the browser settings.

Calendar and Task Sync

Use options in this section to enable automatic synchronization of data and enable/disable the scheduled calendar and task sync between Notes and Sugar. All meetings and tasks sync with Sugar if used with Sugar 6.5 and later releases. 

Note: You must have agent execution rights in the server to run the sync agent in server. If you do not have rights, contact your domino administrator to enable the sync agent.

Sync to Sugar

Select appropriate options in this section to sync either all Meetings and Tasks with Sugar or only Meetings and Tasks that are linked to records in Sugar.

To sync only meetings and tasks that are linked to records in Sugar:

1. Select Only sync linked meetings and tasks to Sugar.
2. Click Sync Now.

To sync all meetings and tasks to Sugar:

1. Select Sync all meetings and tasks to Sugar.
2. Click Sync Now.

Auto-sync

Click the Enable Auto-Sync button to automatically synchronize data between Sugar Plug-in for Notes and Sugar. Automatic synchronization occurs every five minutes.

Note: You must have agent execution rights in the server to run the sync agent in server. Contact your domino administrator to enable the sync agent, if you do not have agent execution rights.

Languages

Select your preferred language from the Languages dropdown list. In addition to US English, Sugar Plug-in for Notes supports the following languages:

• German
• Japanese
• Russian
