Changes in Sugar 6.3.0

Enhancements to User Import Wizard
The following are new features of the User Import Wizard in Sugar 6.3.0:
| • | Sample .csv file for easier import of data — Sample .csv file available for users to use as a template for import of files |
| • | Retain settings from previous imports — Users can save/preserve import file properties, mappings, and duplicate check indexes from previous imports for ease of current data import process |
| • | Ability to accept both database name and display labels of drop-down and multi-select field items — Field labels as well as database names are displayed during data import for ease of the end-user |
| • | Ability to accept both usernames and full names in user fields during import and export of data — Full names of Users displayed for Assigned To and other User-related fields in exported .csv file for easier identification of user records |
| • | Display rows matching existing records during Duplicate Check and allow users to select which to create new records — Display rows in import file that contain data that match data in Sugar, to identify the potential for creating duplicate records in the system |
| • | Efficient handling of failed imports — Table of rows in import file that were not imported due to errors display in Import Results page |
| • | Ability to auto-detect file properties in import file — Users can upload import files without specifying file properties such as tab, comma, double and single quotes, date and time formats, making the process simpler and faster |
| • | Verification steps with snapshot view to confirm import file properties and mappings — Additional page of records from the uploaded source data is displayed in tabular form enabling the user to verify that fields have been parsed correctly, before starting the mapping process |
| • | Alerts for incorrect import file type — Alert message is displayed when file type of import file is incorrect and also prompts the user to recommended file type |
| • | Alert when import file contains more than specified maximum number of rows — Alerts are displayed before the import process begins, notifying the user of the file size exceeding the permitted limits, providing an opportunity to the user to modify the file size and improve the success rate of the data import |
| • | Only mapped fields are displayed as indexes for Duplicate Check — Duplicate Check page displays only fields that have data mapped in the import file to use as indexes. This prevents users from using non-mapped fields as indexes and eliminates confusion. |
| • | Ability to use any fields (custom or standard) as indexes for Duplicate Check — Appropriate and useful set of indexes are available for the Duplicate Check feature in all supported modules (custom or standard) |
| • | Ability to import contacts from external sources such as Google — Ability to import Gmail contacts into the Contacts module, relate Sugar records to Google contacts, and communicate with Google contacts from within Sugar |
